The Challenge

For more than three decades, LIMB has partnered with the American Cancer Society to support one of the nation’s most recognized nonprofit brands. What began with Houston’s Cattle Baron’s Ball evolved into a broader national initiative focused on bringing consistency, quality, and scalability to ACS fundraising events across the country.

Over time, regional chapters had developed their own event materials, websites, and visual systems—often with varying levels of quality and brand alignment. ACS needed a more unified approach: one that could protect the integrity of the national brand while still allowing local chapters the flexibility to reflect their own communities and fundraising culture.

The challenge was not simply creative. It was operational. ACS needed a modular, extensible system that could scale across hundreds of fundraising events while remaining easy for local teams to customize and deploy.

Our Approach

  1. LIMB partnered with ACS to create a scalable fundraising ecosystem designed for long-term flexibility, consistency, and ease of use.
  2. Conducted strategic discovery sessions to develop a flexible identity system adaptable across galas, tournaments, young professional events, and regional fundraising initiatives.
  3. Created Canva-based templates for invitations, save-the-dates, signage, stage graphics, social assets, and digital collateral
  4. Designed and programmed more than 600 branded event microsites with customizable imagery, localized content, and user-friendly content management tools
  5. Developed supporting digital and print campaign assets for year-round fundraising and awareness efforts
  6. Continued evolving the system annually with refreshed assets, updated templates, and expanded event support
  7. Every component was intentionally designed to reduce creative friction, empower local teams, and strengthen brand consistency at scale.

The Outcome

LIMB transformed a fragmented collection of local fundraising experiences into a cohesive, scalable national event system that preserved local flexibility while strengthening brand consistency and operational efficiency. Our scalable fundraising system transformed how ACS chapters activate and manage their events nationwide.

By combining strategic structure with creative flexibility, LIMB helped ACS streamline execution, improve brand consistency, and support fundraising experiences that feel both locally relevant and nationally connected.

Today, the partnership continues to evolve—expanding from invitations and event collateral into a broader ecosystem of digital experiences, branded systems, and ongoing creative support. It reflects the power of intentional systems design, long-term partnership, and creative thinking built to scale alongside one of the country’s most impactful nonprofit organizations.

Strategy

Building a System for Scale

The visual system was designed to maintain the credibility and recognition of the ACS brand while giving local chapters room to reflect their own personality.

LIMB developed a visual language inspired by vintage western elegance, leaning more refined than rugged. Using modular layouts and customizable visual elements, LIMB created a flexible design toolkit that allowed local teams to personalize materials while maintaining a cohesive, polished ACS presence. The system established a scalable visual foundation that could evolve from year to year without losing consistency or recognition.

Digital

Localized, modular activation

This modular system was so successful, ACS expanded LIMB’s approach across other fundraising programs including GenNow, Coaches vs. Cancer, and regional campaigns nationwide.

LIMB designed and maintained hundreds of responsive event microsites optimized for fundraising, registration, storytelling, and engagement.

The website backend was specifically built for usability, allowing non-technical teams to launch pages, update content, and personalize assets with minimal support. Combined with digital campaign elements and social templates, the platform became a scalable toolkit for nationwide event execution.
