The Challenge

The Greater Houston Partnership launched the Houston Energy Transition Initiative (HETI) to make Houston a leader in low-carbon innovation. As a new coalition of business, policy, and community leaders, HETI needed more than just a name. It required a strong identity system and digital platform to clarify its purpose, build credibility, and maintain momentum, while honoring Houston’s energy history and its goals for the future.

Our Approach

LIMB collaborated with the Greater Houston Partnership to launch HETI, developing a brand and digital experience centered on clarity, alignment, and trust.

  1. Uncovered shared purpose through strategy workshops that clarified HETI’s role, voice, and value across its complex stakeholder ecosystem
  2. We developed a visual and verbal identity that shows Houston’s leadership in energy and its commitment to change. The result is a brand that is timeless, bold, and poised for growth. We designed a digital platform that shares HETI’s story clearly, highlights its priorities, and gives teams the tools they need to connect and grow.

This project was more than a rebrand. It redefined what leadership in energy means and showed how Houston is ready to lead.

The Outcome

The outcome was a brand and website that prepared HETI for the future, giving it the clarity and credibility to lead. Internally, the brand helped unite coalition members. Externally, it positioned HETI as the main voice for Houston’s energy transition, with a message, platform, and design system that could grow with its mission.

Strategy

Positioning Energy Leadership

Positioned HETI as a forward‑thinking convener and catalyst rather than a traditional advocacy group, reinforcing Houston’s role in shaping the global energy conversation. Clarified stakeholder expectations, defined audience roles, and aligned internal ambitions with external messaging needs.

Design

Science Inspired System

Created a visual identity rooted in scientific rigor and civic ambition. The circular symbol uses overlapping shapes inspired by chemical bonds to represent energy, connection, and collaboration. A disciplined color palette balances authority and optimism, while bold typography communicates clarity, innovation, and momentum.
